Table tennis training is conducted by our USATT and AYTTO certified coaches.  Our USATT certified coach, Rudy Miranda, has 50 years of table tennis experience.  He has 17 years of coaching experience.  He still plays in local, national and international tournaments.  In southern California, local players all heard about Rudy’s “Beast” mode.  In his prime, he was in the national team in Nicaragua and was sent to China and Japan for training as well as different regions of the world to compete.  Our other AYTTO certified coach, Mike Yang, has 21 years of playing experience and 3 years of coaching experience.  At the age of 10, he won his first bronze trophy in a local club tournament in Taipei, Taiwan. He had competed in local tournaments as well as US National 2014.  He has a heart to impact the lives of youth by introducing this underrated Olympic sport to the Brea community.

 

The training is open to all levels.  There will be an orientation and assessment on the first day of the training week.  Depends on the level of players, we will go over some important techniques/drills (such as serves, falkenberg drills, …etc)  beside basics (such as forehand & backhand drives, rules and regulation, …etc).  Depends on the training progress, we will play “regulated” skirmishes.

 

Each day begins at 1 pm.  After a 2 hour training, players will have free time for open play until 5 or 6 pm.  All early bird registrations will receive a $20 discount per session.  Special discounts are available for Christ Lutheran School TT after school students and Crosspointe Brea.  One full scholarship registration per session (first come and first serve & sponsored by AYTTO) is available to a student who lives in a family under $100K annual income (income verification is required).
